Nutrition-Daily Habits in and around Your Training!

Whether you’re training for a race or just training for “life,” how you fuel your body is crucial. As an endurance athlete, you probably know you need to focus on whole-food carbs, healthy fats and of course, lean proteins! But, most people don’t realize that your daily habits and behaviors are even more important to your success and long term results, daily and on race day. Think about how much sleep you get each night and if it’s “quality” sleep. How you respond to and handle stress. Are you allowing your body to take the recovery it requires for the demands you place on it everyday? Are you hydrating properly?

Nutritionally speaking, what does the quality of your meals in and around your training look like on a daily basis? For example, are you consistently eating throughout the day to keep your body fueled? Do you know what it means to “eat until 80% full''? Are you working to eat nutrient-dense carbohydrates versus relying on bars and other processed foods? Finally, what does your daily routine look like? Flexible nutrition means no food is “off limits.” Rather, it’s knowing when and how much to indulge and factoring it into your days!

A healthy lifestyle of nutrition and behaviors (balancing your fruits, vegetables, lean protein and fat sources) is more than just “eating right!” We tackle the ultimate struggle of fueling our bodies with whole-food nutrition and what that looks like day-by-day. I incorporate a scientific and holistic approach to your nutrition (whether you have sensitivities or allergies) as we also address hydration, stress, recovery, and everything in between! Together, we’ll work within and outside of your comfort zone, providing you with education and support needed for change and results.
